4th European Training Symposium (ETS) on Advanced Heart Failure Therapies
Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the 4th European Training Symposium (ETS) on Advanced Heart Failure Therapies, taking place June 18–20, 2026, in Hannover, Germany.
End-stage heart failure is one of the most demanding and rapidly evolving fields in cardiovascular medicine. Despite major advances, patients with advanced heart failure continue to face high morbidity and mortality — challenging clinicians to constantly refine and expand therapeutic strategies.
While mechanical circulatory support (MCS) and heart transplantation (HTx) remain indispensable options for carefully selected patients, modern management increasingly builds on optimized medical therapy. Guideline-directed (quadruple) therapy, innovative neurohormonal agents, and emerging disease-modifying concepts are transforming outcomes, delaying progression, and reshaping the timing of advanced interventions. At the same time, next-generation devices, precision medicine, biomarker-guided strategies, and gene- and RNA-based approaches are redefining how we understand and treat advanced heart failure.
This symposium offers a comprehensive and forward-looking update on the entire spectrum of advanced heart failure therapy — from cutting-edge pharmacological treatment to contemporary mechanical and surgical options. Designed for ambitious cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, it provides clinically relevant insights, interdisciplinary perspectives, and a clear view of where the field stands today — and where it is heading next.
What to Expect?
– Patient selection criteria for medical versus device-based therapies
– Indications for mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation
– Current and upcoming MCS technologies
– Optimal timing for surgical interventions
– Management of right heart function in advanced heart failure and under MCS
– State-of-the-art anticoagulation strategies
– Insights from interdisciplinary fields such as material science and robotics
The ETS is designed as an interactive and collaborative platform, encouraging open discussion and exchange across disciplines.
Who Should Attend?
This symposium is particularly suited for young and ambitious clinicians, including:
– Cardiologists
– Cardiac Surgeons
– Perfusionists and VAD Coordinators
– Physicians in Internal Medicine
– General Practitioners with an interest in heart failure
– Nurses (especially those focusing on heart failure care)
– Medical Technical Assistants (MTAs)

Join Us in Hannover!
We look forward to welcoming you to Hannover for three days of high-level education, networking, and inspiration, bringing together experts and early-career professionals from around the world to explore the future of advanced heart failure therapy.
